I'm just looking for assurance I'm doing the right thing. I'm looking at the cable behind the throttle and cruise control cables, and it is pulled by the metal piece that the throttle pulls on (don't know the terminology). I removed a white platic bracket with a "T" on it. The inside of the bracket has teeth that slide into teeth on the housing of the cable. Do I just pull the cable as much as I need to and reinsert the bracket? I noticed that the teeth inside the housing only start to move when I pull on the cable a lot. Does it matter if the teeth looked like they moved or should I just pull the cable a tiny bit? What I'm saying is it seems like if I only pull the cable a little bit and put the bracket back on it's not going to make a difference. Tell me if I'm wrong.

p.s. after setting it should the cable be tighter or go back to original resting position?

So do I have to pull the cable all the way back enough to move the teeth back a few notches, then put the bracket back on, or do I just pull the cable a few millimeters and put it back on? Because the teeth don't move if I pull the cable a little bit.

just be careful! its a pretty sensitive adjustment... I messed with the one on my old dak, and i made it a lil too tight. It would smack the rev limiter on the 1-2 and sometimes the 2-3 shift... talk about embarassing LOL!

check out SpeedTweaks they have a pretty good write-up on the TV cable adjustment.

Hope I helped.
