Subject: air intake ?: diff btwn 96 & 97?

Is there a difference in the air intake systems for the 96 and the 97 3.9l v-6? I am interested in the K&N fipk for my truck, but they don't make one for the 97 v-6 and someone told me the 96 air intake is the same, so the 96 will work. Please let me know so I can buy the right one.

'96 is the end of a gen and the '97 is the beginnging of another. I'm going to guess and say the '98 should work on a 97. Maybe someone else here can tell for certain.

You can always make a new intake yourself from parts at hardware stores. Several people here have done just that, search for homebrew intake.
