 Subject: 1997 Dodge Dakota fuel filter location

my freind and i where gunna change the fuel filter on his truck. Its a 97 Dakota 3.9 auto, reg cab. I thought it was gunna be somewhere underneath on the frame, but we couldnt find it. So im guessing its in the gas tank? anyone know? we even looked on mine, but still couldnt find it either, i have the same kidna truck just an 03...anyways, any help would be great, thanks in advance!!

i wouldn't change it unless you knew it was bad, it's not a cheap fix, try fuel injector cleaner or test your PSI at the test port on the manifold

The fuel filter is part of the fuel pump. No fuel filter outside of the tank.
