hey do any of you guys know if theres an easy enough way to unplug just the speedo? resulting in the computer being fooled into thinking it doesnt need to kick out? also resulting in a dead odometer? or is the speedo necessary to help the tranny know when to shift. oh i have a 98 cc auto 4x4 3.9 v6

do you mean defeat the speed limiter? i have read that if you turn the key to the start position it will disengage the speed limiter. other than that an aftermarket tuner(hypertech or superchips) will raise the speed limiter.

also, i have seen someone defeat the odometer in a '98 durango to cheat on warranty but, i couldn't tell you how.

Yes the trans needs the speed sensor or the speedo
will not work nor O/D or lock up and on the RE it
will effect all the shifting

if i wanted to cheat the odometer a little (yes i know its highly illegal dont bother posting to tell me that) it wont screw anything up in the gauges to pull the fuses from the panel will it? like no electrical damage i mean? (and yes i know the truck recordes mileage in 3 different spots i dont really care) and the truck will still shift fine with the gauges dead correct? i am jsut checking becasue as far as i know the tranny uses the rear whell abs sensor to help shift as well (abs sensor also records mileage).

Sorrie to tell you this but if the speedo is not
reading the comp canot tell the trans when to
shift

O/D and lockup are both comp controled by speed
and engine load signals

UNPLUG THE FUSE. IDIOT. THE TRUCK WILL TRACK ODO MILES IN OTHER SPOTS, BUT NO-BODY EVER CHECKS THOSE. I HAVE DONE IT ON EVERYTHING FROM A CHEVY CAV TO A FORD EXPLORER, AND YES EVEN A DURANGO...........
