I just got my truck back from service from my dealer and was told that I need a new PCM. I was thinking of replacing the stock one with a MOPAR performace PCM. Is it worth making the switch? What are the pros and cons of going to a Hi Po PCM? The stock PCM is $500.00 and the Hi PO PCM was @ $360.00...

Or check with your local bone yard and get a
used 1

The V6 performance PCM is no longer made and if
you do find 1 its OBD1 only 92 to 95

Autozone and other parts houses have
remanufactured PCM's with a better price than $500

98-03 you have the option of superchips as well.

Go www.car-part.com order a replacement stocker and flash with superchips.

What kind of problem are you having that the PCM needs replacing? Like Larry said; a used one or reman unit would be the most economical way to go. Just have the dealer flash your vin to it. Good luck.

hey if you bring a pcm to the dealer to "have them flash your vin to it", would they give you the original flash, or would they give you the "updated" flash if the vehicle had previously been given the spark knock TSB flash? I'm trying to find a way to get mine brought back to the way it was before the dealer gave it the death flash. 01 v6

Deep Purple - The problem I am having is my idle has been erratic. The Idle control motor unit was replaced in hopes that it would take care of it, but to no availe. The dealer said a code is showing up that says the PCM needs to be replaced.
