I've read/heard about these shift kits but could someone tell me what a shift kit really does and what is involved in installing one on an '02 3.9 thanks.

Go for it they work great
Average install time 4 to 6 hours
No need to do the sevo mods unless you install
the shift command and shift threw the gears manualy
Just do all the valve body mods and on the 02 42RE
take the presure screw up 2 1/2 turns if you go
more be sure you install the resistor that comes
in the kit or it will trip trans presure codes
