Hey bernd, I was just wondering what type of 1/4 mile times you were hitting with your V6. Also, what type of mods have you done to it?

I am planning on rebuilding my 1993 V-6 here soon, mainly cause it's got 170,000 miles on it and it puffs smoke when I first fire it up. I got the truck with the towing package on it, and even though it's got a lot of miles on it, it will still hit 2nd gear sratch, is this normal? I have no mods on it either except an open elemnt air filter, and I have wasted v-6 Camaros, Mustangs, and Firebirds, the new stlyes. WHat would be some good, cheap parts that could add good power to it?

I was also planning on boring the cylinders 30 over. What type of piston would you recomend for normal aspiration and what type of piston would you recomend if I were to put a supercharger on?

At the initial "Test and Tune" in Houston, here's the link to my timeslips:

http://www.speedtweaks.net/images/TimeSlips.jpg

This was with the 25HP shot (now upgraded to the 35HP shot) and with some "issues" with me missing 4th gear and tire slippage out of the hole.

On the pistons, Magnum V8 (5.2L) will work just fine as they're the same thing in our V6's. .030" Forged JE or KeithBlack Silv-o-Lite's work fine. (Forged if you plan on Supercharging or Nitrous for safety...i'm doing the same thing on my winter project motor.)

While you're at it, a good set of Eagle H-Beam rods and some head and intake porting will REALLY wake up the V6. Contact Marty at KRC Performance for the .512" Lift Cam he's got for the V6's. (It's a HOT cam!!)

Will these mods act fine with my Fuel Injection system? It's the SMPI system. Or will I have to reset my computer?

Some "fine tuning" is required but yes, the internal engine modifications will work just fine.

You're MPI just as the newer Magnums.

Bernd...I just ordered an Electric Supercharger that puts out a maximum of 12 Psi and I was wondering if you could tell me how and where to install a FMU fuel controller. I will need to know in about a week or less. THanks for your help
