OK, so I bought a roll of Dynamat knockoff. This is supposed to be the equivalent of the Extreme and I've got 100 sq ft to work with. Planning to pull the entire interior for the stereo install and do both doors, the rear quarters(it's a CC), the back wall and probably the floor. Not just for the stereo install, but to cut down on exterior noise in general.
Any particular spots that should be double layered? I've seen some installs where the guys have done the outer and inner door skins. Is this really the best method?

2000 red Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab.
I'm not going quite as crazy as you I think on the noise-proofing. I bought a gallon of the Cascade Vblok paste and painted it onto the whole bottom of my cabin after I took out the seats, wiring, consoles, and carpet. I let it dry overnight and the next day I applied the Madmat (www.madmat.net) to the whole bottom, back and sides. The stuff sticks when you peel off the back with no heat gun needed. You can probably use a roller though to flatten it and get out the air bubbles. I still have to do the doors and ceiling. Since the Madmat sticks to the metal I'll probably just go with the pads for the doors and roof. I bought about 20 sq. ft. of the madmat and I'll probably need another 60 feet I imagine to do the rest of the doors, ceiling, back, and sides that I missed. This Madmat stuff is expensive but oh well. I know a guy that I think is getting me a discount on the stuff. Other modifications I plan:
Paint the dash completely with the same red as the outside of the truck, Custom kick panels and paint those the same color, new steering wheel, paint the center consoles/cup holders the same red color as well, custom amp rack in the back of my club cab as I have removed the back seat and seat belts, sealed sub box with a 12" sub, new seats if my seat covers I bought at Autozone don't look good, new pedals covers that glow, a new gauge cover, and new carpet. I probably left things out but oh well. The whole interior I realize will cost at least $1,000 and that's if I can get a great deal on having all the dark blue plastic interior pieces repainted and get carpet for cheap. I'll have to look into the carpet soon once the noise-proofing is finished. After the carpet I'll probably get all the plastic painted and then get the gauge face. Once all the interior work is done I'll do the stereo. I don't plan any exterior or under-the-hood mods until the whole inside is done. I estimate $5,000 at least for the whole inside with about $3,500 for the stereo. I'm planning the MB Quart 6.5" separates in the custom kick panels, two PPI amps, A JL Audio 12W7 sub in the box, a capacitor, new wiring, and my Alpine head unit that I just bought.

I'm not sure what the poster used, but I've heard of the following:
o roofing material from Home Depot/Lowes (peel-off application)
o Brownbread (by B-Quiet)
