anybody that has the westin black safari bar on the front. how do you like them? how well has the black finish held up? If you mount a set of larger lights on them can you fix them to turn on with your foglights or do you have a seperate switch for them only? thanks for info in advance.

its an awesome bar!im running hella 500 series!
in the directions it says to hook up so the switch only gets power when the high beam are on
i hooked the switch to the power window socket so i can turn them on when ever i want.

ps with the body lift and the licence plate mount i cut off the angle plastic on the back and mounted thru the mounting holes and added a speed nut behind the plastic lower valance

I love mine. Literally an hr. after I put it on my lil' bro ran into our front gate,,,stopped us cold at like a little over 10mph. No damage to the bar, but the brackets were bent only a little. Ordered some new ones ($30), and back in business. Plus the black powder coat shows very little damage.
I'm going to weld some expanded all the way down it, like a skid plate, and have the whole thing powder-coated again.
Best mod to truck so far,,saved the front end!

I love mine. I T-boned a Ford Taurus in a parking lot (her fault, not mine) and all I did was scrape up the finish. My bar is about two years old, and its starting to get a little rust around the light mounts. Nothing major, but I think I'm gona test that 5 year warranty on the finish.
You can wire the lights any way you want. I just have mine on a switch. Most states say you have to wire them to only come on with your low beams, you just need a relay to do this. But I want to be able to turn mine on and off when I want.
