My 01 QC SLT wouldn't come from the factory with fender flares. Dealer wanted Alot, should have done it then though.

I have the Tire and Handling Kit, and the wheels stick out 1-2 inches past the body.

I have 2-tone paint (white over gray).

I want some fender flares, painted to match my bottom panel-gray.

the dealer now says the set of 4 will be about $500.

Any ideas, leads, or deals?

Thanks

I've seen a few sets on ebay for under $300 in various colors. The holes for them are already in the fender...As far as I know they just snap on. I'm in the same boat as you. Just torn between the flares or more performance mods. Decisions, Decisions.

If that "grey" is actually driftwood, you could be in luck. Not one of the more popular colors. A set closed on Ebay last week with no bids and a buy it now price of $180. Search for "dakota flares" on Ebay and email the guy. He sells quite a few sets and when he puts R/T in the title, they seem to sell for $75-$100 more. No idea why since they are all the same flares.

Good luck

OEM Fender Flares Best Money you can spend for a Dak

Todd The Dealer that gave you a price of $500. must have priced them individually instead of the set. Dealer for the SET of 4 Painted to your Factory color was $265.00 my dealer sold me mine for $215.00 . Also your right on with the Tu-Tone paint scheme the factory Flares usually match the lower color. The Flares are easy to put on the kit comes with coated screws, about 5-6 per Flare, after you get the screws in you peel the 3M backing strip off and as you do press the Flare to the truck body. just make sure you truck is clean and inside where it is warm (if winter) or you will screw up the 3M tape.

I bought my 2001 quadcab in Aug and wanted OEM flares but the dealer said they didn't come in bright silver metallic. They came in every other color, but if I wanted silver it would cost me an extra $80.00. I checked every dealer in Toronto and got the same story. Anyway I waited till December and checked back and they said silver was now available,so I'm glad I waited. It was some sort of mixup when DC ordered the flares. There on now and look great

I think your dealer is full of it. I was driving through my local dealer's lot on the way to the parts dept and they still had a bright silver '01 R/T on the lot....with fender flares of course.

Unfortunatly in Canada you have to add about 40-50 percent to what you pay in the States.

Thanks to ALL!!

I'll work on ordering them real soon, It's Saturday morning now.

I'll get the OEM painted-in a set. You're right, I only asked once, and he priced them separately.

Thanks again,
Todd

PS-I ordered my truck, took a bout a week just to figure out what I wanted, and what they would build at DC. I think the 4x4, and R/T only would come with the flares in FEB/01.

I can still remember getting Flares for my 2000 Intense Blue for $120 !!! from the dealer, it was something to do with the colors being discontinued, I was so so happy the dealer was so so suprised they came up like that in the computer. Wonder if they will discontinue RED anytime soon LOL

Thanx to all.

Installed my met. silver (to match my two tone paint) on my white over silver 01 QC.

Went to a local dodge dealer, they had them in 1 day! Went on no prob. removed each of my rear whells to install the lower screws well, didn't have a shorty Torx driver.

Paid $260 for the set, and they look good!

No, its a terrible idea since they would continue to rust just be hidden. If you replace the sheet metal, repaint the area and add flares...thats a good idea.
