I am buying color decals for the side of my Dak. The Dakots Sport decal. Has anyone changed these before? Is there an easy way to remove the silver ones from the factory or should I put on over the top of the old ones?

The decals can be removed with a credit card and a warm day or blow dryer. The adhesive can be removed with wd-40 or bug and tar remover.

Thanks Doc. That is the info I was looking for. Gives me a weekend project. Since I spend most of my weekend with my Dak anyway. Well at least till I get married that is.

So where did you buy the new color Sport
decals? I have a green Dakota Sport with Teal
decals and I want to change them out.

For those of you removing the 'Sport' decals,,,I would strongly suggest purchasing one of those 3M adhesive removing wheel. Goes in a drill,,,like a giant circular eraser and it rubs the stickers off without hurting the truck's finish.
Plus it's super quick,,,like five minutes maybe....Instead of sweat'n you kahoones off on a hot day! Cost like $20 at an auto store.

3-M wheel is great idea, but still be VERY careful. If your paint is as 'soft' as my '00, credit card may scar. Hair dryer is probably the best with, maybe, GOOF-OFF [or wd-40] to clean-up,...D

I used a product called un-du sticker and decal remover. Has a bottle of fluid and a soft plastic scraper. it worked really well and witha little meguiars clear coat body scrub followup, you couldn't tell they have ever been there.

Got un-do at Autozone, they list their web site as www.un-do.com.
