In my fathers 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when you turn over the engine the dome light dimms slowly until its completely off. This must be a simple cuircuit that when the usual domelight reciveves no power it starts the dimming process, but is there a chip/wiring hanress that i can get for this effect? I love it and wish i had it in my Dak

I know what you're talking about as our '02 Ram has the same feature. Way cool ;-) Unfortunately I don't have any information about it as I'm still waiting to find a FSM.

My 2002 has that feature, very cool! I'm sure it can't be that hard to duplicate the wiring or relay. The service dept. will probably tell you what the part is.

I know how to do it!!! You just need to wire in a capacitor to the main power wire (pink one in the overhead on the 2001, I think). I'm not sure of the rating you'd need, but radio shack or a good electronics store might be able to help you find it. Its easy to do, costs maybe $2.00, and it doesn't take long.
