Get a can of 3M adhesive remover, peel the decal off spray the remover on and rub it off, wash your truck first sho you get rid of all the dirt.

I have a '93 Dakota, and on the tailgate it says DODGE in reflectors. It's not a decal, its more of an emblem. What is the best way to get these off without damaging the paint?

pry 'em off with your fingers....then clean off the left over tape crap by rubbing it into a ball then wash it...

I took off ALL of my decals from a 01' Dakota Sport by using a hair dryer. All you have to do is heat up the sticker one section at a time and then start pulling it slowly.

It will leave behind a residue that can easily be removed with GooGone and your fingernail. Just make sure you use a clean cloth and constantly flip it or you'll just smear the adhesive all over the paint.

Yep, I did the same. I've heard the Texas guys can just peel them off on a summer day.

If you're had them for a while, they'll probably ghost, but a good wax job will hide it.

Yep - give us a good summer day in TX and they practically fall off. But sometimes that gummy schtuff will stay.

No need for chemical treatments, I just wait for it to rain and the chemicals in the rain will soften the decals into a shmutzy goo :-)

In reality, hair-dryer, plastic putty knife, Goo-Gone, and a clean rag. Took maybe 30 minutes total, not counting the wash/wax.
