I am in California, and have my clear corners on order and should be getting them soon. I really don't want to put amber bulbs in them and if I can put clear bulbs in them legally I will. Has anyone else had any problems or ideas on this? Does state law say anything about what color the turn signal lights have to be?

Yep. Here in Cal, it's illegal to use any other color except amber, 'course THAT never stopped anyone from doing it anyway. In fact, since there's three bulbs on each side, I use a blue bulb on the inside, white in the center, and red for the side marker. I haven't been pulled over yet, but I DO carry around a set of ambers, just in case the "patriotism" excuse doesn't work.

Nice Bro, I like that idea. I have the clear corners on mine and currently run all ambers. Got a fix-it ticket here in Cali once, but they look stupid so I'm gonna change them back to clears, or maybe get a whole color scheme like Bro. Probably not as extreme though. Most cops won't give you a real ticket unless they catch you more than once.

If you put amber bulbs in the clear corners, at night they look just like the stock lenses. The only real difference you can tell is if you put clear bulbs in, the turn signal flashes a much brighter white.

I got mine at www.procarparts.com. They were 43.95 + shipping and tax which came out to close to $60. You can find the same ones on E-bay pretty cheap. Mine came with amber bulbs and they shipped quickly and they gave me a tracking number so I could track my package thru UPS. All around a great company, especially for an online store.

actually in cali it is legal to use clear bulbs with clear corners. I talked to a cop for an hour about what is legal and illeagle on cars after he gave me a ticket for some stupid ish. (blue headlights and no front plate)

the law is the front turn signals can be either amger or white (remember the old cars came with white turn signals). mine are blue, but when turned on they look "hyper" white which are illeagle.

I'll be damned kota's right! That cop can shove that fix-it ticket up his a$$! I found it in the California vehicle code. This is a direct cut and paste from their website:

24953. (a) Any turn signal system used to give a signal of intention to turn right or left shall project a flashing white or amber light visible to the front and a flashing red or amber light visible to the rear.

I guess the key word there is WHITE.
Thanks kota, the clear bulbs go back in on Saturday!

Can someone tell me if this true for Texas as well? I want to use clear bulbs in my clear corners. Alot of the time the amber can be seen pretty clearly, and you don't get the effect they were intended for.
They look sweet with straight clear bulbs and lenses!
Let us Texans know if we can do this....I'm not sure where to look for it.

This is what the law states in the Texas Vehicle Code (direct cut and paste leaving out a,b, and c):

§ 547.324. Turn Signal Lamps Required:
~~~~~~~~~~
(d) A turn signal lamp shall emit:
(1) a white or amber light, or a color between white and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the front of the vehicle; or
(2) a red or amber light, or a color between red and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the rear of the vehicle
Therefore, I would say that the code in Texas is the same as Cali's.
BTW, if anyone doubts my sources you can see for yourself:
CALI --> www.ca.gov
TEXAS --> http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/tr/tr054700.html#tr021.547.303
