Go to Ebay, and do a search for fog lights. Don't make it a Dakota specific, just fog lights. There shoudl be a few auctions that come up with 4" round fog lights made by BlazerTech. I just got finished installing these on my R/T to replace the factory ones. I paid $14+shipping. It was around $20 total. You will need to rig up a mounting system though. If you don't have the factory fog lights, this is your best bet. They come complete with wireing harness. Any questions about mounting let me know.

Okay, you need to go buy new longer mounting bolts. At leat 4" long. Then three nuts for each bolt. 1/2" bolts(one that require 1/2" wrench) are the size you need. Now if you use just the bolt, and the rear hole for the stock fog light mount, the fog lights wil stick out from the valence kinda bug eyed. I had mine like that until I just replaced them. Didn't like them sticking out. So f you want them to sit back like the factory ones, you need to get a piece of metal or something sturdy about 3" long(will have to support weight of fog lights and you don't want it to flex). Drill two holes in it big enough for bolts to go through, one on each end about 1/4-1/2" in from end. Now you will need two more bolts, and two more nuts. These can be shorter about 2" long. Attatch the fog light brakcets to the lights, and the bracket to the piece of metal. Then using the front hole for factory fog lights, put the shorter bolt in, and tighten down. The fog lights shoudl sit back further, and also allow you to adjust them without hitting the valence.

I would try to take pics of what I did, but no room to get a decent pic of it, and I'm not goin to remove them to do it. It's a pain to get them on. Not much room for two hands up there to tighten the bolts. I guess you coudl remove the bumper to make it easier. You will need to leave the screws that hold the light to the bracket a little loose till you get them installed and adjusted.

If you can't find them on Ebay, you aren't looking very hard. Do a search for "fog lights" and find an auction for 4" round fog lights. Yes they are glass lenses with aluminum housing, and steel brakcets.

Fog lights!

I have a 2002 Dakota, and the fog light holes don't come pre-cut. It looks like it is all one piece. If I saw that hole out, will it cause the paint to begin to chip? What's my best bet? I thought maybe if I did saw that hole out for them, then put some clear coat around the cut edges after I sand it smooth, it might work. What to do?!

I got the set from wal-mart and went to install the wiring harness that came with it when what to my surprise!!! The factory wiring harness is there! All I did was splice the ends and hook up the wal-mart lights, and get a $5 factory switch from the salvage yard and presto chango, "factory" fog lights!

It takes a little bit of work to make them bolt in, I just used a piece of 1/4 inch steel and bolted my lights to the steel, then the steel to the fram in front, with out it, the lights stuck out from the bumper and looked bad. But they look good, and don't forget the relay under the hood....

I have a '03 which didn't come with any fog lights. PIAA makes a great mounting kit (#30280) which mounts to your frame and doesn't shake as you drive. They are made to fit PIAA 510 lights, but you can use any WALMART and other light you find that only has one post. They are adjustable and let you slide the light in and out till it fits without sticking out any. And the best part is that it was only about $30, and now I could put any light I wanted...
Just an idea to check into...
