I see many of you with custom rims on your bagged Dakotas. My only question is what companies offer custom rims; as in will build you a set with the correct off-set and back-spacing needed to tuck?

Also, what is the correct back-spacing and off-set? I found a set of 20's and 22's and the company claims that they will tuck into the fender wells. The back-spacing on the wheels is 6" and the off-set is +18mm.

Gracias to all that can help me out wit my little dellima.

Custom rims are made by high end companies such as Boyd, Foose, Colorado Customs, ect...I dont know the back spacing specs. though. I do know that custom rims are gonna cost u an arm n a leg, u might as well jus get a less popular rim from a diff company...unless ur pockets are deep enough for the customs, then do it up!

And how do you plan on using a 5 spoke wheel on a 6 lug axle unless you use adapters?

I know that instn directed to me, but....the stock 15's are 5 spoke...with a 6 lug pattern.

You can have 3 spokes, doesnt mean its a 3 lug, ya know?

That's true. It just depends on the design of the wheel center. I liked the Amer Racing Torque Thrust 5 spokers, but because of the design they wouldn't work on a 6 lug, so I had to go with the 6 spoke Torque Thrust wheels. They have so darn many wheels from different manufacturers that it would take you a day just to see them all. LOL I still haven't figured out why they use a 6 lug on a small Dakota and a 5 lug on a larger Ram. Go figure!

Well, I still dont know what you mean. Just because it's a 5 spoke doesnt mean you couldnt order blanks and get them drilled.

There are 18 spoke 6 lugs, and 0 spoke 8 lugs.

Well, a lot of 5 spoke wheels have the lug nut holes between the spokes. You could order custom drilled 5 spokes, as i found out at a wheel store, but they said it would look weird as some of the holes would be through a spoke and wouldn't look symetrical. that's why I had to get 6 spoke wheels to have the 6 holes between the spokes. Some 5 spoke wheels have solid centerw with the spokes not converging in the center. These you can have drilled for 6 lugs. As I said, they have so many wheels to choose from you would invaribly find one to fit your vehicle, if you had the $$ and time to look through all the catalogs.
