Would this job be considered a "do it your self" or "take it to a pain shop" type of job?

Also, I'm not totally sure, but don't you have to use a special plastic bondo or somthing like this when doing it?

Thanks to anyone who provides some helpful info.

you can do it your self.you need adhesive promotor. scuff them with sand paper then clean them and spray on the adhesive promotor.

I know how to paint cars, to a point(i'm no pro)

I have never messed with the plastic parts though. So, what is this adhesive promoter you speak of? Basically bondo but for plastic>?

no it's a liquid. i cant really think of how to explain what it does but it does something chemically to the plastic which makes the paint stick to it. it pretty much dries it out and cleans it. you can get it at you local paint store.Just spray it on and wait for it to dry then paint as you normally would.

I just recently painted my front bumper which is textured like most mirrors and handles. i work at a body shop so i had access to the materials to do the job well and its been about two months since and it is all holding up perfectly! i first scuffed it, then sprayed it with the plastic adhesive (permoter), then i primered it thickly to take out all of the texture in the piece. after this it was just a whole lot of sanding to get it smooth and ready for paint. and like i said i had heard alot about that you shouldnt paint textured pieces because it wont take the paint but by adding the primer and doing the process like i did it has been 2 months and not even a sign of peeling so there ya go!
