Why would someone want to shave their door handles? Mine are not growing any hair yet. Maybe they're not old enough!

Seriously, how would you open the door if the handle was shaved off? Guess I don't understand the idea.

there are door poppers, you'd do the drivers side by remote then in vehicle you can pop open the other doors. Can have some remotes even open other doors as well other then the drivers.

They are not going to be illegal, but they are very very very unreliable.

Pop-locks are the crappiest thing around right now. I know a guy(over the internet) with his award winning race burner that was locked out of his car for over 2 hours do to the pop locks malfunctioning, which they do, all the time.

Shave your doors, and thet the "under-foot" handle kit. All it is is a relocation of the door handle, to underneath the car. You pull the handle with you foot, it's awsomeness. :o)

i agree with P Y E,
they are very unreliable but the reason i said they may be illegal is because it would be alot harder for a cop to get into your car. read this on the internet when i was thinking about shaving mine.

i'm not particularily worried about being locked out as i'm doing this to a dodge durango (same doors as dakota), but the 5th door in the back will not be shaved so worse comes to worse i'd have to climb through the back and open up a door.

Hey "thicker", guess your rig is more mature than mine. My Dak is 2004 and too young to grow hair and shave yet. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,....
Could also be that I live in northern Ontario where the winters are colder and the hair won't grow.

they are not unreliable if you spend the money and buy a good kit. it's not acually the poppers that open the doors it the electric acuators.if you get the right acuators for the weight of you doors and wire it right you should have no problems. my buddys had them on his car for 3 years and not a minutes trouble. but he takes his time and make sure everthings right.btw they are illegal in b.c. but thats optional.

i've shaved handels on many many cars and trucks and i agree with jay as long as you do it right you will never have problems other then if you let the batt. die but that's why you leave yourself a fail safe ie. a pull chain or i have even put batt. posts under the front bumper to jump it. one little tid bit of advice i can give to all wanting to do this (just had to do it for a friend that bought one that had this problem) when you are in the door and hooking up your selonoid make sure you put the door in the unlocked pos. and cut the arm off the latch so it cant be locked if someone tries to break in it. it took me 5 hours on an s10 to get the door open, someone at one time had tried to steal the truck and used a slimjim to try and open the door, while doin this they locked the door so even the popper wouldnt open it and neather would the handel inside. and all of you just try to get the door pannel off in a full custom int. without opening the door, and not destroying the custom junk. whata bitch.

Ok check this out in all seiousness. Aside from my usual griping about stuff like this. lets say you get into an accident where you get knocked out or something. How would you be removed from your car or truck without door handles? Jaws of life? when the fire department uses those did you know that you are billed for their services?!!! Yes your vehcile probably was not damaged to the point they are needed only for the fact that there are no door handles. now instead of just repairing lets say your front end. Now your vehicle is totaled cause it was cut open like a can to get you out of it. I dont think the insurance company would be all to happy about that. Or well i dont know if there is a back up in those pop kits or not. But lets say what do you do if your battery dies? Then what? Or just simply enough they malfunction. So now you paid good hard earned money to remove your door handles. And now your paying for the jaws of life to get you out. And your paying for a whole new truck cause i am willing to bet that the insurance company wont total your truck casue you modded it. Or at the very least you have to pay a lock smith to open your truck just cause the battery died. O yea there is also a battery in that remote that is prone to dieing without warning. O yes another thing could happen you got your ball of keys but the remote was destroyed because you dropped your keys.

Now serouly i am courious cause i know nothing about these pop lock deals i wont cut my handles off? But please educate me on what would happen in these circumstances.
