Subject: Stock R/T Height compared to Sport

How much lower is an R/T compared to a Sport? I want to lower my truck a little bit, and I like the stance of the R/T. Do they sell kits that come with everything? How much is it? I have an 02 Sport Extended Cab. Thanks.

The R/T suspension is 1" lower than a stock 2WD sport. The 255/55-17 tire is also shorter than the Sport/4x4 models so it appears to be even lower.

It would cost quite a bit to buy the R/T suspension parts directly from a dealership, but there's usually plenty of R/T owners who have upgraded their suspensions and are willing to sell their stock coils/leafs/sways/shocks for about $250-350. If you don't happen to find one, I will probably put the parts from my 03 R/T up for sale soon.

Thanks for the input. Do the R/T 17"s actually lower the truck, or just make it look lower because the rims are bigger? If so, by how much? I'm going to buy them when I need some new tires, which will be a while because I just got some about a month ago. But I really do want the R/T suspension.

I did exactly what you want to do. I got a pair of Hotchkis 2" drop coils for the front and 2" drop blocks for the rear. There are other ways to do this. I also went with the R/T 17x9 rims and 255/55/17 tires.

Do you have a sport? How much were the coils and blocks? Do you have any pics of your truck? How was the ride of the truck affected after you lowered it?
