Ok, I've been trying to get a look for my Dak that is different than others; something that wont get lost in the others out in a parking lot.

Here goes. Exterior paint is Dark Green with the Silver Swoosh down the side. Chrome bumpers, black valence. I was thinking about a 2/3 drop. For wheels I was thinking of 17x8's wrapped in 27x8 inch rubber for the front. And for the rear, 18x10's with 28x10 inch tires. Should I get chrome or aluminum wheels?

I've got the axles and rotors and all of that for the 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern

What do you think of roll pans on a Gen II? How would I haul the boat? And what should I do with the exhaust then, I now how rear exit duals.

Its all ready got a black soft bed cover. And light tint.

What else do you guys think would look good. Clear corners and tails are out of the question, I don't like the looks of them.

Couple of things...

Black Valence - I would keep it only if your going to tint your windows dark and put on a black bed cover. If not then paint it dark green to match the truck. Perhaps paint it silver to match that streak.

Roll Pan - Looks good on a GenII, I've seen them nicely done, gives a clean look and strips that dated looking bumper off. Bear in mind that old bumper has some significant protection qualities to it though.

Exhaust - swept side, dual pipes. Sounds good, nice flow and will keep the front of your boat/camper clean and will keep that roll pan from getting too dirty from exhaust fumes. Chrome tips

Wheels - Chrome to match the tips and bumper, may want to keep the rear bumper to tie it all together. Gen2's look better with more conservative rims, so no 20's or 22's on this one. The old style is classic and should be maintained.

Keep this all tastefully done and maybe borrow a suggestion from me or two and I will definately give you the thumbs up next time I see you rolling down the road in that fine Gen 2 of yours.

Man, thank you for spending the time on me. I think the tint, cover and black valence already look pretty good. I think I will go with the roll pan then, but I dont know, since the front bunper will be the only chrome on the whole truck. You got any suggestions for wheels?

im a fan of very simple color coordinations, i like to keep thing 1 or 2 colors, 3 max if you count the wheels. i think that the green/black/silver/chrome will get it too busy, id drop the black, and just go all green with the silver graphic. i really think that clear corners would clean the truck up alot, getting rid of the ugly amber color, but then again its not for every one. i think the tire size you picked is good, and you r a LUCKY BASTARD for getting that bolt pattern, 6 lug offers too little choices. good luck, i expect to see pics ion the future!

I'd have to agree with IMO on the color scheme. 3 colors is pretty busy, I went with black/Chrome on my SLT, and kept it simple. Most sharp cars have 1 or two colors max, but don't count the wheels, chrome is chrome and aliminum looks too common. As for wheels, you might want to choose a pattern or some sort of chrome rim that accents the box'ier look of the Gen2. Not too curvy but still eye catching. I'd say switch the silver graphic to black and keep the valance and cover. Black on Green is sharp and eye catching. As for the clear turn signals I don't think its necessary because the green hides the amber more than any other color. They look appropriate for one another. Yellow is the only other color to get away with this. Black and White Daks almost demand clear turns because the amber sticks out way too much. I would strongly recommend cutting the color patterns down to 2 colors black/green or green/silver. The tint color is pretty much up to you but black tint is the only thing acceptable, colored tint looks gawdy. Perhaps keeping the rear bumper (chrome) front bumper (chrome) and the valance (green) would work to keep that silver inline with what you are doing. The silver graphic can work with that green, but clashes with the black.

Mr.... you have a lot of thinking ahead of you, but like I've said before this is my opinion and its your truck, and without people experimenting with these sort of things we wouldnt have half of the graphics we do today to play with. Have fun, you can always change it back. But keep it simple and clean looking and you'll win every time.

Post pics if you can, and especially when you are done.

If you have the 5 bolt pattern already, than the only option for wheels is clearly, 17" american racing torq-trust II's !!

First, I want to say this IS NOT MY TUCK.

My truck is exactly this color, same swoosh. No cowl induction. I have the tint also. I've got the bed cover. My susp WILL be the same in about 2 weeks. I also have the same exhaust.

It's ugly, if you really want it to look good, dump the crappy gen II and get a gen III.

Rue can go piss up a rope....

I like the look of the R/T wheels on that Gen2. I see what you got to work with and I don't think you can go wrong with what you are planning to do.

o no, no plans whats so ever to copy, but i just think it looks perfect that way. the older daks for the most part dont look good really low, unless they are done right. and the tire size really fills the fenderwells nicely.

thanks
