Did you have to remove your spare tire with that hitch?

yeah, cause i had no use for the regular spare anyway cause i run 33" swampers but you cant use the spare tire mount but i think there is some company out there that makes a spare tire relocator kit so you can still use the pulley crank but im not sure who makes it

i dont think you can but i didnt try it but i think street scenes make a spare tire relocator that will move the pulley back so you can use the tire mount

I am looking for the same thing. I went to summate and I have ordererd from them before, but I could not find the hitch you were talking about.

I have a 2000 cc dak, and I saw that they have one for the 97-98 (which is that same body style). So I wanted to know if this will bolt right on to my truck. If you could just link to the one your ordered, or give me a part # I would be most apriciative.

Always Thankful,
Ben J.

Thanks for that info. Will these work if I do NOT have a roll pan installed as of yet? I would assume that I could just get a ball with a longer end. But I would immagin the price of the ball is as much as paint for a rollpan :P

Thanks for the help.

BigDawg - How easy was the install? Did you purchase the flip door separately or did it come with it? Price is up to $126. How hard was installation. Going by the picture...looks like a good amount of drilling will be required. I see it has a 3500lb payload - you know what the tongue weight is? I guess it is a class II

as far as the install there are three bolts along each side of the hitch and they are all existing holes in the frame, and the flip door you have to buy seperatly the part# for the flip door is SUM-G301000, im not sure what the tongue weight is all i know is ive pulled loads 3500lbs if not more before and never had i problem, i just had to get some of summits helper springs so it wouldnt hurt my suspension so bad

Sounds like an easy install then? What kind of Dak do you have? Any trouble wiring for the trailer?

What kind of rollpan do you have? I have the street scenes - fiberglass I guess.

it is an easy install, my truck is posted at this website www.dtwtrucks.com/bigoleboi the hitch isnt hidden anymore cause i put on a 3" bodylift it a streetscene rollpan, for the wireing just go and get a wiring harness for a dakota and it just plugs inline of the factory taillights its very easy may take like 2 minutes to do
