 Subject: Dakota Hood Emblem

I wanted to remove and replace my hood emblem on my 2001 Dakota. When feeling under the hood, it felt like the emblem was bolted on. Does anyone know if this is so or an easy way to remove the emblem?

The emblem is just held on with doulbe sided tape. I had to take mine off to repaint the hood and just used a heat gun to get it nice and hot, but don't melt it. Then take a rag and fold it over a couple times and carefully pry under the ridge with a small flatblade screwdriver with the rag in between the screwdriver and the hood so you don't dent or scratch it. Don't know if there is any easier way to remove it or not.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that. I've got a yellow viper emblem for the hood. Should look pretty nice with the black body. thanks again for the help.
