Message:
heres a good one..

i have an 87 dak and i want to do the whole clear turn signals and such and no one makes clears for a gen 1. i know i can get clears for a gen 2.

now much question for anyone is, will the head light surrounds from a gen 2 fit the gen 1 using the stock gen 1 grille and hood?
i know id have to re do some wirings, thats fine.
but will the surrounds fit onto the gen 1 core support with out any mods?

No, it's a different style front clip entirely, they won't fit.

eh, thats what i figured but wasnt sure.

now, do you have any idea on what i can do to my front end to fix it up.

i shaved the bumper and painted it body color, im gettin a stillen air damn. i have a tube grille.

i was thinking blackouts for the headlights, but the problem with them is they only cover the headlights and front turnsignals, not the sides too.

i figure my option is to paint the headlight surround black to match the blackouts and paint the turnsignal lense with the spray tint to darken them to look like the blackouts. will this work?

thanks

The fenders and hood look the same, as far as I recall. Park beside a gen2 and you can see what would have to be changed.

the fenders are the same, the hood isnt, the bumper isnt either. it is more rounded. so im gonna try the blackout idea.
