I just installed a Westin Safari bar and two Hella 500 lights. I was reading a lot of posts asking how to best hook up the lights. I think I have the optimal solution. Purchase the remote control harness for the Hella Optilux lights. It's less than $30 from autobarn. Follow the install instructions except if you want total control of the lights do not hook the green wire to the high beam. Instead run it directly to the battery with a fuseable link. This will allow you to turn the aux lights on or off at will. Also, if you have the overhead console with homelink you can program it to turn the lights on and off by following the factory programing instructions. It's simple, just like programing it to open a garage door.
