its hot glues into place. Flip the door panel over and you should see little plastic rivets things holding it on. Drill, snap, or break off .... cover ....... reglue

yeah but you don't have to remove the panel to install aftermarket leather...

get a plastic putty knife and dull the edge.

lay the leather piece up and trim to fit with about an inch overlay.

get both materials tacky and lay the leather on

tuck and roll the leather excess under the panel. the rivets give you the force and leverage to force the leather under the panel.

take your time and you can get the corners to tuck with no creases.

i did this with my 00 when i installed a leather kit in 01. looking good ever since.

if you remove the welded rivets, you really can't get them on as tight as stock was...

that's a great way to do it. so do you remove the origional cloth or just go over it? i think if i went over it the cloth would act like a pad and it might look better... also i have a extended cab would the cloth along the back work the same as the doors? what did you use to make the materials tacky. spray glue?

go over the factory carpet...

i used super 77 3m adhesive, spray it on both materials, let it get tacky then lay it on.

i used the same technique for the whole rear area too. of course the rear seats are easy to do (should prolly zip on), but the walls are tricky (esp the curved rear portions). just take your time and leave extra material than usual for those pieces.

i got some photos of finished seat covers on my truck's page.

don't have any of the rear area though.

my first time, it took me 2.5 hours start to finish on my club cab.

oh yeah, take out the seats (front and rear). makes it way easier

i went through jonas at elitecustoms.com... you can mention phil with the amber fire dakota and see if he can help you out.

i got in on one of the first group buys in 01... 600 for club cab, two tone leather, custom emblems embroidered delivered to my door, in hawaii!

the kits come with everything to do the doors and back walls too.

if you want to go with another company... check out gsmotorsports.com some pretty nice options and a piece to do the center console if you have two buckets. pricey though.

ya know i'm not sure...

the last leather install i did, the guy had individual bucket seats, but he got the leather cover for the large center portion found on the split bench front seats.

i'd have to see one up close to figure it out.

check with autoleathers.com i think they have an install page or help line.
