 Subject: Removing spare tire holder

Ok, so i removed my bed to do some work and drop some weight. When i took it off, i though it'd be a good idea to get rid of the spare tire holder since i don't use it (good ole roll pan). But i noticed that the driver side upper shock mounting point is welded to the spare tire holder.
Is there someplace where i can get a new one, or will i have to custom fab one of my own? I know there are some people who have done this, so their advice would be nice.
