Subject: Changing the pedals Question????
IP: Logged

Message:
I want to change the clutch, brake, and gas pedals but after I inspected them, they are welded on. If I go buy new pedals from pepboys, will they fit magicly somehow?? I guess I need to go look at them, but those you ya'll who changed the pedals already, how did ya'll do it?

Thanks Steveo! What about the gas pedal? How the heck do I get that off? Do I just push the pin out that's holding it on? Or do I just yank like the devil to get it off b/c I can't get that darn pin out to get the pedal off.

doch80 i left my gas pedal on, the plastic piece. the directions say to leave it on. although with some pedal covers, like mine, the edge of the plastic sticks out on the corners, so i trimmed it to fit. also you might want to put a screw to hold it on extra good. some come with bendable brackets that you are supposed to bend over, like tabs. but i took the tabs off, drilled out the rivets, and got some small bolts, nuts and washers. thats what hold mine on. the washers grab on at the corners of the metal part. email me if you have any questions, i know it sounds confusing. good luck
later

Actually, after feeling like an idiot, I figured out that I had to leave the gas pedal on. I guess I could have left the other pedals on too but I didn't. They came with L brackets so they're on pretty tight and should stay that way.
They had some with the tabs but these looked a little more solid. Thanks for the help Steveo, I appriciate it!
