Well... you could do what I did... install a tinted windshield strip across the front. Should cost about $20 to $35.
If you absolutely want to keep the sun out of that area, then you can put a vinyl strip across the top... however since vinyl is opaque, you won't be able to see through it... therefore I think this would be a bad idea... but hey that's your call...
Finally, you could go with a "moon visor" like the one from Lunds. Go look at Blizzrd's QC... he has one on there.
