Has anyone done this? I have a 2002 patriot blue dakota sport. I was thinking about painting part of the dash like I have seen some have done. How did you guys go about doing it, as far as prep, paint, gloss, etc.. I tried to search, but cant seem to get it to work on my computer. Anybody painted theirs patriot blue? I would like to see how it looked before I did it. Do yaw think it would look good. Maybe I could paint my vents silver? What do yaw think? Anybody suggest a different color?

2002 4.7 L RC, euros, clear corners, white face gauges, mbrp cuda style exhaust and intense perf stage 3 air intake coming.

Go with the color of your outside car or whatever your color scheme may be. Mine is red and black because my truck is red and everything else is black like all other dakotas. I painted my dash. Just get a sandable primer. Be sure to sand a little bit but not to much or the paint won't stick to well. Do primer and let it dry over night. This should be done over a period of days if you want the best results. Make sure you wash your dash really well first. Then use the primer, whatever paint you decide to color it. and then get the clear coat. Put on as many layers of paint you feel you need and clear coat. The clear coat will protect it from cracking and scrapping. Let it dry over night. You could wake up early, paint, let dry all day then paint again at night. I just used car enamel paint that is in cans at Auto Zone or Wal-mart in the car section.
