Does anyone have the Checkmate Soft Tonneau? I want to get a tonneau cover that mounts below the rails so I can put a set of bedrails on. I'am not sure how well the checkmate will hold up to the Ohio Winters.
I like the lebra low profile but I heard that it is hard to put the cover back on during the winter. Please Let me know how you like the Checkmate soft cover.

I have the plastic bedcaps on so it wont scratch my paint. But I don't like the idea of water sitting on it. Thanks for the info.

I HAVE THE FIBERGLASS ONE FROM CHECKMATE AND I LOVE IT. I'VE HAD IT ON FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND IT'S JUST LIKE NEW. I THINK MY GAS SHOCKS ARE GETTING A LITTLE WEAK BUT THAT'S IT.

I bought the checkmate fx soft cover for my 2003 Ram and hated it. I removed it and sold it after two weeks of use. The aluminum is very lightweight and not high quality. You can bend it very easily in your hands. Also you have to install the vinyl yourself by laying slats on the rails and screwing through the vinyl. This is extremely difficult to get tight and wrinkle free. Mine also pooled water in two spots everytime it rained. Also, the only access is through the tailgate, and this is a major pain. I didn't think it would be, but it was. I ordered the drill-free Craftec cover. It is a soft, hinged cover. It looks great, is of high quality, and works nice. No pooling, easy removal, and opens via gas struts. You may want to check it out. You can find them on ebay directly from the manufacturer. Not a bad price, either.
