Hey i have been pondering the idea of some gutter guard for my front grill but my main concern is what do you guys do than for a hood release switch? I would like to avoid any welding if possible seeing as how i cant weld and dont want to pay to have something welded

I used a short piece of bicycle brake cable zip-tied to the center post of the grille.

Drill a small hole in the end of the hood release. Pull the cable out of the plastic tube and thread it thru the hole. Put the cable back into the plastic tube and cut it off so that it hangs just below the bottom of the grille. Crimp a little loop in the end and put a key ring on it.

When you pop the hood release, the ring should be just visible at the bottom of the grille, pull the ring down & open the hood!

You can email me for pics, if you like.

jus use some of that steel works stuff found at lowes...drill to holes into it and your latch, put 2 small bolts threw and use jb weld on the nuts to keep them from coming loose...i did this on my truck and on my friends truck...i dont have pics of the installation up yet but i do have a pic of what the steelworks stuff is at

it is also being used to hold the lower part of the grill in place as it is much sturdier than that flimsy pipe staping stuff they use on chimptopias site. either way you do it you cant go wrong with the gutterguard. i love mine and my friends truck

looks just as good. good luck!

Do you think the gutter guard would look good painted body color or would it be too excesive. Maybe black? I have a sport and there is no chrome (trying to keep it that way) I am not sure what I am going to do yet.
