I got a stylin' concepts sport truck catalog today...and i was flipping through and came across the hide away hitch. Correct me if im wrong...but basically all this is is a hitch closer up to the frame, you cut a hole in your roll pan and install one of those plate mounters that flip up so you can access the hitch?

This would be ideal for me cuz i have a 99 dakota sport 2wd that i will be adding a roll pan (most likely the whole Xenon body kit) and hitch to in the future (when i get money). I always thought yea a hitch would be good in case i ever take a buddy riding with me and u cant fit 2 mx quads in the back of a truck (ive seen it done...but it doesnt look too safe).

Does anyone have this setup? Any advice/comments? This seems to be the best of both worlds setting up a sport truck with a hitch that no one sees.

Thanks for your imput!

I have the street scene one, I like it. All you have to do is cut out the part behind the license plate and get the license plate flip-up kit, and it's easy to use. just make sure you cut out enough that you can get your hands in there so you dont have to lay down to see what your doin.

Are there any roll pans that allow you to use the factory installed hitch?

The factory Trailer towing hitch, Class 4, is hardly noticeable. All the others hang way below the bumper, etc.

The factory kinda hides up high behind the bumper, or roll pan if you had one.

If you're really going to tow anything, with an auto, I suggest doing it right, with tranny coolers, etc., or you'll pay in the long run.

Good luck
