Subject: Adding Style to a 93 Dakota?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello

Recently I got a 93 Dakota, only 37,000 miles and I'm willing to put some money into it. What are some cool things I can do to my truck in a style sense. The only thing I have done so far is 8-Ball Shifter and Racing Pedals (Yes it is a manual).

Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Matt

Its all in your tastes i went for the OLD SCHOOL look with a old mopar style theme. Some other Gents go with the slammed look

1flamed92dak, i agree totally, I did the same thing, gotta go for the old mopar look. I don't have pics but i had it sprayed 2002viper blue with a black strip, just like yours. Had a cowl hood moulded off of my stock hood and it looks like it should be a 1970 dakota

How does a paint job like that usually run for?

lund hood scoops, about $70, you can paint them yourself

weatherflectors for your windows, about $35

tonneau cover, as little as $100

and a good wash and wax always helps.

Isn't that the truth CRUZ'N well after I buy the spindles for my truck im done for a while. The cost of a decent paint job your looking in the neighborhood of 2000-3000 dollars. You can start with some wheels and go from there.

thats right, it's worse than heroin! Any way the mod that instantly ads style is rims and tires, you can be conservative or go all out. Take any customized car, put the stock rims back on, and it will look stupid. I have a 93, and mods arn't readily available in comparison to other models, so you have to do a little homework, but that's when the mods pay off for you.

I picked the color from a chip ring and when i got the bill it cost $1100 Can. for two quarts of paint plus clearcoat and everything else($4800 total). Thats what you pay for colors that are only available on one car. luckily i swung a deal and only paid $3000. My uncle worked at a dealership so he called in a favour

once you start modding it becomes very easy to convince yourself that you need and can afford more mods, but it sure is fun

I have a 94, and i just started doing stuff to mine, i have a performance exhauset with a k&N intake kit, but i am looking for some rims that don't cost 2000 dollars. i don't necessarily need chrome unless they are within my price range. If anyone has any ideas leave me a message.

I got my rims with tires a few years back for $1500. Eventually I want bigger wheels, but not this year. I got them here as a package deal: www.performanceplustire.com. Also, somebody please buy my Checkmate tonneau!

Wheels, Wheels, Wheels.
I took my 90 dak outa a garage itd been in for about 8months unran. Dusty, spider webs all over it. Gave it a good wash and wax, got American Racing Nitros with a bit more "poke out" than stock rims, and a tonneau cover. Made a huge difference. I have picts right in front of me now looken at it. With the addiction, I ve got 5in of lift, 31s now, grill guards rollbars, etc. Lights, cowl scoop, fenderflairs, a whole sound system with dual 12s. Some engine mods (headers, flowmasters, jacobs ing, K&N, wires, etc) Now its calling for a new 3in susp lift. removing the 2in spacer. Like $600 for an increase in 1.5 inches maybe 2. Nuts....
Flamed92, I love that paint job. The rear looks great. Your truck is simply nice! tastfully done. Man I love mopars.
OK, off the look for more goodies for my dak.
Later
Joe E.
