The hood emblem is held in place by some sticky tape. There are also two medal studs that go into the hood,,but don't lock down or anything,,they are simply there as guide holes so that it goes on straight.
I've heard of people using fishing line to cut it free.
New emblems simply have an adhesive backing you remove and slap on.
