Those are some sweet rides. Are those at stock height?

Thanks

I just got my R/T rims in, and in about a month I'll be putting them on my quad. But I'm still having some difficulty finding a tire size. I could go with the stock size that comes on the R/T, but what about the size 275/55/17? Would this tire be too wide for the front when it comes to turning? Would the tire throw the computer off for the ABS (2WD, drums in back)? Keeping the stock suspension, would the ride be less softer? Thanks.

I've got polished R/T's on my '01 quad with Nitto 275/50/17 and lowered 3/5. These tires are the same height as the stock wheel and tire combo, so they don't throw off the speedo or cause any other problems. The ride quality shouldn't suffer with the stock suspension unless you run a really low profile tire. A 275/50 still has plenty of sidewall, so it shouldn't be a problem

Those nitto's arn't the same size as the stock tire. The sidewall is smaller. i'm running the same tire and it fits fine. No rubbing. Their a good tire.

A 275/50/17 tire is the same overall height as the stock wheel & tire. The 16's come with 255/65/16's and are the same overall height as the Nitto combo, just more wheel and less tire. That's why the speedo isn't off

Okay, but now I'm a little confused. There's a similar thread to this one where a guy posted a link to a wheel/tire calculator that compares an aftermarket rim and tire to stock with relation to the speedo. According to that, the 275/50-17 are 4.2% faster. If I go with a 255/60-17, there will 0.0% change. Supposedly, changing the width also changes the height. If there is another way to calculate sized, could someone post the URL?

I've got RT wheels and 255/60/17 Toyo Proxes s/t tires on my quad. It's currently dropped 2" in the front and 3" in the back. The pictures are from last summer when it was dropped 2" in front and back. The tires are exactly the same height as the factory 255/65/16 Goodyears that came on the truck with the sport plus package. Check out the following link to see it:

Just click on "My Photos" and then "02 Quad"

I don't plan on dropping mine, I'd just don't want to put the miles faster on the truck that need to be.

Lemmers, damn your truck looks good with the R/T wheels and the drop. Which drop kit (or components) did you go with?

I got a Silver QC I'm looking into dropping a couple inches. I might try and go with some Torque Trusts or Thrusters, though.

Thanks for the complement Dude,

I cut down some CC RT front coils and used 2" Western Chassis rear shakle hangers. I cut the factory front bump stops and used Hotchkis rear bump stops. I've still got the stock shocks.

Since I took the pics I dropped the back another 3/4" by machining some custom steel drop blocks that brought my pinion angle back to stock.

There's a couple of guys on this board that have been trying to find RT front coils without much luck. I got mine off Ebay for like $65.

Without hesitation I'd recommend Western Chassis products. Check out SportTruckDirect.com for more info. Their products are first rate, as is their customer service.

If you want a GREAT deal on wheels check out:

http://www.centerlinewheels.com/wheel_deals3.htm

They're closing out some of their older wheel styles. 16" sets are $348, 17" sets are $398 and 18"are $428 or $544 a set. Shipping is $70 a set.

I just about fell over when I saw the prices. Billet wheels are SO much stronger and lighter than cast.

I bought a set of 17X8 Billet "Hammers" Friday for my summer beater Mustang 5.0 and can't wait to replace the stupid stock 15" "phone dial" wheels it came with.

Hope this helps,

Lemmers

HAHA "Phone Dial Wheels." That's classic.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll have to look into the Western Chassis stuff.

Damn, Centerlines for ~$500 or less. That's nucking futs.
