I live here in sunny Minneasota where they use lots of salt on the roads (though less now than in the past, I'm told). Rock chips, etc. in the summer plus salt in the winter equals rust. So though I undeerstand and appreciate 94STEVE's reply, I think I'd still like to try a 'glass hood . . . if the price is right.

Here's the hood I just ordered for my '95

It's got a functional air intake also, which I like.

I had a group buy all set up for GenII hoods a month or so ago... Had atleast 8 guys in on it.. Did a bunch of looking and research, they all pushed and pushed, until it was time to buy.. Then bam! never heard another word! Course none of them ever ordered, so I never did either.. but I can get us a deal, if we can get five or more guys in on it!
Check them out at..
www.aarqualityfiberglass.com
The hood I like is part #1011
We can get it for $385 or so.
Plus I'm also from MN.. Just south of Rochester! So we could probably save on shipping too!
Let me know what you think.

I appreciate it. I looked at the AAR hoods. I had their 'cuda hood on my '00 Ram. Their stuff is absolutely first quality and the price is right. In fact, if Alan made a 'cuda hood for the Gen II, I'd buy one. I just don't like the look of his R/T hood and cowl hoods belong on Chebbies and Ferds.

That's fair.. and I agree 100% on the Cuda Hood!
It sure would be nice if they made more aftermarket parts for the GenII!!

To each his own, when it come to preference!

QuickRacing,

I was one of the ones that wanted in on the group buy. However, I couldn't wait any longer: Someone decided to take out various parts of my truck this past Saturday. I was hoping I could locate a used fiberglass hood in a hurry.

As for the group buy: It was never very clear to me how the logistics were supposed to work. For example: I didn't know if we were supposed to contact you or AAR, how the shipping would work, or how payment was to be made.

I didn't mean anything by my post about the group buy, other than that I had one, and am still trying to get a hood for myself. So I wasn't crapping on you! I thought that I posted on the "Group Buy" that you (and the others) needed to contact AAR, that way if orders got lost or messed up, it would be my butt!..Almost sure I did!
But I guess it doesn't matter now!

QuickRacing,

I thought you were "top flight" on trying to set up the group buy. I just wasn't sure how to proceed. In reviewing the thread, I see that you did mention that we should contact AAR. I guess I missed that. Opps.

At this point, I guess I need to pick up a hood in the next week or so (sooner is better, since my truck is "down"). There were a couple of folks who contacted me in the past about used AAR hoods they had . . . I was hoping that this sort of thing was typical and I could pick up a used hood in a hurry.
