What would look best w/a dual out system as far as tips are concerned?

Thinking of going w/dual ovals out the back..

Any suggestions???

I'm afraid of ruining the sound I have now with that setup. I love the resonance of the longer pipes provide.
If I go w/a shorter setup the tone won't be as deep, or burbly.
I was wondering if anyone has some pic.s of their trucks w/roll pans and what their rear exit exhaust looked like.
Thanks,

I have heard it is a pain to run thru roll pan with exhuast. If you have fiberglass it will warp and have heard it damages paint on all pans even steel. Just a thought.

Man,,,my truck won't be out of the shop till Wed.!!!! I can't stand this rental Impalla!

I got the Sir Michaels steel roll pan. Plane-Jane. I'm still deciding on how to run the exhaust.....Still perplexed on what would look good. I'm thinking the split dual oval tips out the back would look good.

I really wanted some Bassini tips, but they wanted $132 a piece! I need two!. Sux.....

I'll probably roll w/turndowns right before the roll pan for awhile,,should look alright.

Thought about that too.... but was worried I would lose some of the resonance it has now w/the longer pipes.

ALTHOUGH....My friend dumped his ('01 QC 4x4 4.7) right out of the muffler and it didn't sound bad at all, but he's using a Magnaflow. I've heard a 2 chamber Flow. dumped too soon, and it has a 'raspy' sound,,not very pleasing 'to my ear'.

eh.....I'm just picky. I'll live w/turndowns till I decide for sure. Thanks for all the info!

If you dont go with the cuda style, have you ever though about having the exhaust angled to the corners of the roll pan. I've seen that before and it looks pretty tight, i think thats what im goin to go with when i get the duals.

If your tips are too close they will heat up and melt the bottom of the rollpan. Also don't get chrome tips because they fill rust and look like crap. Especially rolled tips because it holds all the water in it. Stainless steel works good.
If you cut the pipes off after the muffler it will sound louder and a lower pitch. It will sound really good at low rpm.

Well, I'm not concerned w/melting the roll pan,,,got a Sir Michaels Steel roll pan. I have to have my pipes rerun anyway after the drop, and I've never been too crazy w/split rear exit that angles out at the corners,,,,where I come from it looks tooooo redneck'ish.

If you take good care of chrome tips they'll last a long a$$ time. My friend is trying to sell me some borla stainless steel turndowns for $50 bucks,,,cost him like $35 a piece.

Here are some pic.s of my truck before the damage,,the only thing that will look different after I get it back, is that it will have a roll pan: (look in the 'after drop' album.)
