 Subject: Moore or Suncoast Ram Air Hood

I have been looking at hoods for my 2000 Dakota,and I like the Ram air types from Suncoast Creations and Moore Fiberglass Hoods.I've heard good things about the Suncoast hood,but can't find to much feedback on the Moore Ram Air.The Moore Hood is cheaper and they are located closer to me so shipping should be cheaper also,but quality is more important.I would appreciate any feedback on these hoods or any other brand with the same design.I would like to have a Shaker,but they are pretty strict with the emission testing here so I would have to remove it everytime I have to get it inspected.Thanks for any help. Ken

That's the same hood. Moore is probably just an authorized retailer.
You should find out what Jonas is selling them for, he's also an authorized representative of Suncoast Creations. www.premier-automotive.net

Around here I think they would fail you for a scratch on the tailgate(HA HA).A buddy of mine has a Camaro that wouldn't pass because the new converter he had installed by an exhaust shop didn't look the same as the original.They might have gotten mad when they didn't get the job but they wanted 450.00 and their converter probably wouldn't have looked like the original either.
The testing is still pretty new around here,and we only have at last count 3 shops that do it,so they are real strict.I've asked diffrent shops about the Shaker, but I can't get a straight answer.They all say they would have to see it first.So in other words they want me to install it so they can tell me no.It's just not worth the hassle.

The only thing with the shaker or any other cold or ramair hood is that you have just that.. cold or ram air. It is still however just air.. so NO, YOU WILL NOT have ANY problems with emissions..
Anyway, if you want a suncoast creations, a shaker, or ANY other hood for that matter, give me a email or a call.. i have the absolute best pricing on all of them.

Thanks Jonas. Everybody says your the man when it comes to hoods,so if anyone should know it would be you.I'll cotact you early next week about getting one from you.I might just have to get a Shaker.Thanks to everyone for all your help. Ken

ALSO.. for those of you interested... We will have a OEM style (same as stock) CARBON FIBER hood out for the dakota / durango in the near future. Ive already done the contracts, and sent the manufactuer the stock hood to mold from.. Just a matter of getting the mold made, and production now..
