Subject: Customizing Fender Well
IP: Logged

Message:
Well, I finally got "EXPENSIVE" tires mounted on my R/T wheels... Alas!, they don't fit! How does one go about making them fit? They rub on the back of the fender well.(When wheels is turned) Can I cut the fender well out, so they don't rub? Any ideas? Thanks for the help..
*Also, if anyone is interested in a set of R/T wheels with Potenza 255/50/17, Give me a call*
Otherwise I need to figure out how to make them fit!

hey man..I've seen many a lowered gen 2 with rt wheels. How much drop do you have? A 255/55/17 is way too big for any amount of drop...would probably even rub stock height

Drew,I think we can make them fit I looked at my Truck . My tires rub slightly on the back fenderwell but only when going in reverse.Your truck sit a little lower in front than mine does so this makes it a little more tricky but dont give up so easy, Noone ever said its gonna be easy but it can be done. If Not you can always use a different tire up front and keep the 255/50/17 for the rears Bridgestone makes a 245/45/17 RE730 that is 156 Dollars If not Bridgestone has another tire the same size for 88 these prices are from the TireRack So for 200 bucks you could fix your problem or sell it all and say only if.

Easy buddy! I'm not giving up.. Just exploring my options. There is almost no way I can afford to get new tires, on top of the ones I have now!
On the lighter side.. I'm going to cut out the wells and make them fit! I just figured if anyone was in need of R/T wheel and tires I could make a buck or two.
** Not to worry, an cut here and a snip there.. they'll fit!! **
And hey, Thanks for the incouragment!
