Subject: 20's, who's got 'em?
IP: Logged

Message:
I want to get me some 20's, preferably chrome. So,
if you've got 'em what do you have? how do you
like 'em? how much were they? what size tires?
Have you lowered your truck? pics?

Thanks, I'd really like a clean looking 5 spoke
design with a little bit of a deep dish look, any
suggest

i was considering a 4/6 drop on my kota, and i know youve probably answered this a thousand times, but what would be a good tire combination to run with a set of 20s, ive heard 245-40, and i noticed you have 255-35, which would be best with no rub, and what backspacing for 20x8 and 20x8.5...thanx

my 35 series rub a little on the freeway when the suspencion gives, so i KNOW the 40 series would give problems.

on a 8" wide rim, im running a 6 1/4" backspacing.(you can get away with 6", but if you decide to bagg it latter on, it will not tuck)
with a 8 1/2" rim, go with a 6 1/2 to 6 3/4" of backspacing.

Im suprised that you could even lower a Dak on 20s. Not to knock or anything but I have a buddy who lowered his R/T. With his stock 17s alone that guy rubs the wheel well when he makes any sharp turns... How the hell do you fit a 20 inch rim under there without rubbing your tires bald by simply driving down a city street?

I know a guy who put 170 dollar a peice nitto's on his GN. He runs in the 11's so the 680 dollars was for traction... :^|

yup my 35 series are 301.99 each. they dont make a 40 or 35 series in anything but a Z-ratted tire

as for performance... HANG ON! corners like a its on rails!

Lock, the rim size dosent matter, its the TIRE size. my 255/35/20's are only 27" tall. that is a few inches smaller than the 255/55/17's that the R/T's come with, so that is why he is rubbing.

I'm running 20" American Racing chrome wheels with 295/45-20 Kumho tires on my 2000 Dakota QC 4x4 :) The wheels are 20 x 8.5 and I'm unsure of the backspacing. The only time my tires rub are in reverse and 3/4 lock. No rubbing at full lock.
