I didn't put in the amber lights and about 2 days later I was pulled over by the cops (after he followed me for 15 blocks!!) and said I needed them. He also said I needed the orange reflectors on the sides, but that just looks REALLY bad, so I left that. I painted the bulbs with a high heat silver paint so it looks good when the lights are off, and it tones down the amber a little when they're on. I think it looks pretty good both ways, better than stock, to say the least!!!

Texas law students another question for you. Do you know where law about the front mounted license plate is?

I have searched the transportation code for a while now without finding any reference. Since I put the bumper cover on I have no place to put the front plate. (and I don't want to)

I've heard through the grapevine that one can't (or won't be) pulled over for no front plate, but if you are pulled over for another offense, you can be ticketed for this also.

Ya I'm pretty sure that you need a front plate too. One of my friends got pulled over for a tail light being out and he got a fix it ticket for the plate being gone.

Once again this is through the grapevine, but at the dealerships it is an option on certain vehicles for the front mounted plates. They said the law requires two license plates "on" the vehicle. The only plate specified is the one on the rear of the vehicle. Dealerships say the other (second one) one can be in the trunk. Don't know for sure but that is what is being sold at the dealers.

Front Licance plate is required here in Texas (I live in Euless and drive threw Grapevine every day to work) My last truck was missing the front licance plate and I wasn't bothered once for 3 years.

The way it goes.. as long as your not pissing anyone off and your not flaunting it.. I doubt they'll pull you over for just that. If they pull you over and happen to check for your front plate they'll bust you.

What you could do is stick it in your front windshield. I think that's legal.

Hey CJ did you know that they make LED "Amber" bulbs that you can put in your clear corners?
They bulbs are a cluster of 15 led's (that are clear untill they light up) they light up faster and brighter than the average bulb. I too did not like the fact that the amber bulb still made my clear corners look amberish so I just put a pair of LED's on order. If you want the link to the LED's let me know.
