 Subject: Black Door Molding Strip

How would you go about removing the black plastic strip on the door. I heard that its just on with some adhesive, but was also told that if i just pull on it, i run the risk of ruining the paint. Has anyone else takin these strips off yet? and how did you do it. :) Thanks
