Definately looks like someone dropped some cash, not sure why on a porky Durango though, not really a baja vehicle IMO with it's already high center of gravity, but looks tough. Hope it has a full cage inside if they are actually planning on running it. Wonder if the radiator or tranny cooler every sees any air? lol.

That's the best angle in a photo I have seen showing what the pre-runner bumper would look like on our Daks. I like the pre-runner look, just needs a little more finishing or covering where it attaches to frame so you don't see all that. It's built for functionality, but on the street kinda looks ugly with all the frame, radiator support, etc. exposed.

the durango is a 97 4x4 , he lifted it and put in a tuff country 5.5 lift he wheeled it and ot cracked ......... Had it welded and had nothing but problems ...............had problems with the axles , cracked supports so it went out .....
He had this put on it , doesn't have the axles put on yet .........It has a bar going behind the backseat and holes through the rear for the coil overs in the rear .......... The arms lower and upper you could get .....The thing is who could weld it to the frame , aldo did you see the extension on one of the pics on the spindle ?????? pretty gnarly , why does't anyone make spindles for us ???????

I just got back from my mountain bike ride and I'm charged up , need to stop thinking .......Somebody put out a question about the height .....In my opinion , it's about 1 to 2 inches above a stock 4 by maybe close to 2 ... 4 to 5 on a 2wd .....Now what do you want , height or travel ???? Ask knobby and he put it very well on another post , when you do a suspension lift on a 4x4 , you bring down the transfer case with a cradle , that puts the cradle pretty much at the height the stock cross member fron your frame was originally , so in reality it's like your lowering the front end from the frame , still stock a arms and lowers .....You don't get any travel out of it , you could put bigger tires , so the same goes for the body lift , only cheaper , ask knobby about clearence on his truck ????? It's pretty much what a stock one is , change the bumper to a hanson and you can go bigger or the pre runner look ........Now with the set up on this durango ?????You can go on the whoops at glamis at 40 50 miles and you don't even feel them ......You could jump this thing high and youll land and keep going ...........

Yep.. Basically I don't understand these "suspension lifts" in the kits from like superlift and rancho. Although they are GREAT lifts. They still do the same thing they lift the frame off the suspension x". Who cares about that .. not me anymore. I relize that what you need is travel not amount of lift.

With a suspension lift your axle stays at the same height so you don't get any extra ground clearance. What you need to do is get a diff. w/ a higher center point. Also w/ our IFS setup (PAIN IN THE BUTT) you don't get ANY extra travel because your differential is what piviots and there is no way to add extra angle to that with out switching out the diff it self. UNLESS you want to a REALLY trick setup where the center section of the IFS floats also.. That would be sweet because then you'd get crazy travel. You have to have a minimum of 4 shocks and 4 springs on the front but man that'd be sweet.

Anyway for most people just looking for a good setup that Durango is definatelly the way to go.

RiverManiac - Could you please get me the name of that guy and also.. Find out what that front suspension setup including Diff cost him. I would love to get away from this lift I have.

the problem with the durango is the diff , exactly how you put it , the guy is trying to see if someone would fabricate a different spindle so he can hook up the axles and use the 4 by ........But it will cost some major money , and he put in around 10 grand into that thing , Ill get the guys name and # see if you could talk to him , I'm trying to find out for my truck to do something similar , but 2 wd and nobody around here is interested ????? they discriminate our daks , whats up with that ????

Why doesn't someone fabricate a diff and setup that is similar to the hummer? I mean if you look at the hummer, it has major clearance, even without axles. (not speaking of the H2) That's an idea that has been on my mind for a while now and no one has mentioned it, so why not ;)
