They sell a 5.5" lift for your year that is pretty reputable. I'm jealous because I traded in my '97 for a 2002 not realizing the lack of any reputable lift kits for 2000 and newer Dakotas.

For a new 3" rancho or 5.5" tuff country suspension lift your going to be paying around $2000 or more, professionally installed. (difficult to install without a shop and the proper tools plus 2 days of down time guarenteed)
Thats not including you tires and alignment or replacing any other suspension components that'll probably need replacing to get a quality alignment done. (Balljoints, etc...)

The 3" Body lift is much cheaper (around $150-$160) and you can do the install if your somewhat mechanically inclined in about a day.

It all comes down to personal preference. I got a good post in the archives listing about every possible set-up you could go with and the approximate cost plus the pros and cons of each. I really need to get a website started for this.

If you want to compare the rancho and tuff country lifts, click on my thumbnail and go to my pictures. Hope this helps.

The answer is yes. You might have to do some minor trimming depending on what tires and wheels you will be using.
