Subject: Does anybody have 33's and FenderFlares?

It seems that NOBODY is able to run 33" tires with their front fender flares on. So I was just wondering if someone DOES have them on and what has to be done to do make them fit/not rub?? This is for the GenIII guys... 4x2/4x4... lift... I just wanna know what will work to get these puppies back on!

Thanks

I had flares on my old 97 before I wreaked it. It was a two wheel drive with a three inch fabtech lift and a three inch body lift. I never had much trouble runnimg the flares and only a minimal amount of trimming was required.

you have to trim just the bottom of the flare in order for it to fit but nothing that shows. I even had the 200 lb hanson bumper on my truck and it still fit. Althought the bumper will require you trim a considerable amount of the inner fender but once again nothing that shows.

hope this helps

I don't see why you can't run 33x12.50s on the stock 15x8 wheels and keep the fender flares. I have those tires on my truck (stock 4x4 quad cab), and they don't rub the fender flares. They do rub the back edge of the front bumper, which needs to be trimmed if you are going to run 33s; and they rub the back of the front inner fender liner and the frame at full steering lock.

Thanks guys... this helps a lot!! I was under the impression that it was almost impossible to have the fender flares on w/33's. When I look at the wheel well with a 33 on it (just to see) it looks like all that is needed is some trimming, and like you said, its not noticable so that doesn't bother me. Guess the only real way is to try it out!
