I know that this lift is not for everyone, but I saw the lift that maxtire is putting on dakotas. They first swap in a Dana 44 and follow up by putting 4.56 ratio in, along with lockers in both axles. After that they put on a King Coil 13.5 in lift. I really want my truck to sit higher than 3in in body, 3in in suspension, and the added height from tires. If anyone is really serious about this conversion, it takes a 2wd dakota and turns it into a 4wd beast. I called them today and they quoted me for the lift parts and the labor of installing it all. The total price was 6800 dollars before wheels and tires. Just letting you all know that there are other options out there. The lift they say can fit 38in tires comfortably. Also they say that they dont have to make it functional 4wd if you just want the look of a damn tall truck. Im guessing for that, it would drop the price dramatically. Anyway I am seriously looking in this direction. The place is based in El Paso, Texas and their website is www.maxtire-4x4.com. Any comments on this would be appreciated.
