Try Trailmaster. They have a 4in lift kit but I am not sure it if works on 2wd and 4x4 or just 4x4. You can also check out www.chassistech.com The company is AIM ind. They have a 3in suspension lift for 2wd Daks. Alot cheeper than the trailmaster too. Good luck.

well if your looking for something cheap that does the trick... you could always do the body lift... 1.snap or take off all your body mount bolts, 2. buy longer grade 5-8 bolts depending on how much you wanna lift it, 3. buy hockey pucks each are 1"-1.5" 4. center pucks and drill hole threw them 5. place between chassie an body then run new longer bolts threw them. do the same all around and you got a body lift. do not over do it tho or it wont look good

Please for the greater good of dakotas do not do the hockey puck lift. They break down over time, and your truck will squeek like a massive mouse orgie!!!!!!!!!! A performance accesories body lift for our Gen 2's runs about $100-$175 on the internet. It comes with everything you need including a way to extend your steering, and detailed instructions. You might also try some coil spacers, im currently trying to find the best ones for the price for my 96 2wd.

Does anybody know what the difference is between the front suspension of a 95 dakota and the one of a 97 I would like to put the fabtech 3 in kit on my 95 dakota I just want to know if it can be done and how?

This is my 2WD with 2.5" lift. Front spacers and rear add a leaf. 32" nitto's but had to trim fenders.

People PLEASE stop doing body lifts they do nothing but make you look stupid. they have no function. do a suspension lift its not hard these dakota's are basically jeep cherokees they use the same axels and transmission. my brother made his own long arm kit and he gets about 5ft of flex on a 8 inch lift. now that is function, he only had to go to the local steel company. its cheap. and when going that tall i recomend you swap for a straight axel like i said ever jeep cherokee has one and they are dime a dozen.

5 'feet' of flex? I'm just trying to imagine where you are measuring to/ from. Usually suspension travel is measured by wheel travel (compression and extension) or by a ramp travel index (how far up the ramp a rig gets before the rear wheel leaves the ground). Do you mean your brother is getting 5 feet up the ramp before the rear wheel leaves the ground?...are you lifting one wheel with say, a fork lift, and getting it 5 feet in the air before another wheel becomes airborne? Not trying to be an ass, just trying to understand.
As for body lifts...they are a less expensive and less labor intensive way to clear (from body rub) larger tires. I personnaly have both, suspension AND body lift on my `95 4x4. I added the 2" body lift 1st, as that was what I could afford at the time. I combined that later with a 4" suspension lift when I could afford it. The combination has allowed me to run 33" tires on off-set wheels, giving my rig a wider stance than stock. I'm all for the suspension lift over the body lift too...it's just not always in the budget for some of us.
Side note: a 2" body lift is much easier to disguise than a 3" (raising bumpers & nerf bars, less gap to hide under the bed).

i have a 95 dakota 2wd i want to put a suspention lift on it where i can atleast put some 33 on it how high would i have to go and how much is it gonna break my pocket. p.s. my friend did the hockey puck lift it will last a while but if u dont put some rubber spacers it will sqeek like crazy and eventually fall to pieces so if u use the puck lift make sure u use the spacers and a dab oc silicon to helk hold its easyer to drill holes too . thank you

I don't know that you will get 33s under a Gen II 2WD without some serious modifications. To get 33s on my `95 4WD I have a 2" body lift and 4" suspension lift...and it had more clearance to start with than your 2WD. Not saying it can't be done, but you will need to get 'creative'. The 33s are bigger than the wheel openings themselves. Cheapest way is to remove metal from the front and back of the wheel openings (not everyone wants to cut out sheet metal). Even with that, you will still likely need a body lift, and suspension lift. I believe Rough Country 'use to' make suspension spacers for the front and something for putting the rear springs on top of the axle. Don't know the details.
There are a slew of mfg's out there. You will probably have to check each one. Most advertize in the various 4 wheel/ off road mags.
