I went to 4 Wheel Parts Wholesale the other day and got a quote on a 2" body lift for my 93 reg cab/long bed 4x4 dakota. They quoted me somewhere around $450.00 installed, is that a good price? As far as labor goes, they told me it would take about 7 hours to compltete, does that sound right?

Thats about right. The kit is only about $175 to $180. You are paying the rest for the install.

I need some advice here on my 2000 4x4 Dakota.

I just bought the extended warrenty on it so I am good to 100,000 miles.

Is a 3 inch body lift worth it? I have 31 MBG Goodwich Mud terrains on it. My truck has seen mud but it is too high centered with the skid plates. And the truck is my only truck and use it for everyday driving, hauling trailers and camping. I end up breaking stuff when I go hard core wheeling so it now more of a show truck.

I know body lifts are not that expensive. I just bought the tires so cant afford 32 inch Mud Terrains anytime soon.

I have a birthday coming up so want to starting seeing what I can get.

I would go for the lift if thats what you like. I am going with the 2" body lift and just got a set of 31x10.5" Pro Comp A/T's today. Personally, I like the looks of a decent size tire in a wheel well with alot of room to spare. I had on a set of tires that I think measured about 28" and there was alot of room inside the wheel wells and looked pretty good. I think it gives the illusion that the truck is higher than it actually is. I have had a couple people ask me if I had a small lift with those snall tires and plenty of space to spare. If you have the cash, go for it....if thats the look you like. Some people like a wheel well stuffed full with rubber, I dont.
