hey hawkeye, i'm wanting to convert my 2wd to a solid axle 4x4. i got a 1998 2wd with the 3.9l, so here's my question on the tranny where i would mount the transfer case. do you know if it is a strait add on or is there a different tranny for the 4x4's?

It mounts after the tranny. Would probably need an adapter kit. Just so you know you are looking at wuite a bit of money. Not trying to discourage you, just dont want you to be shocked. I think the tailshaft on the trannys on the 4x4's may be a little different but I'm not sure. Honestly I havent ever looked at the tranny on a 2wd. I know this isnt much help.
