Subject: can i fit 34's

Ok hey guys, i'm gettin my 5 1/2 lift here soon, but i cant decide what size tires to run. I've seen where alot of people run 33's with there 5 1/2 tough countrys, and say that you cant run any bigger but it just doesn't make since to me cause i've got buddies with 3 inch body lifts runnin 33's. i'm not wantin to go much bigger. I guess the main reason is that i'm tryin to keep my tire half way in my wheel well so i dont get rock chips and stuff. See i found these 34's they are nittos the (terra grapplers) they are only 11.5 inches wide. but i'm worried about orderin them cause i dont know anybody that has ran any bigger than 33's. i guess if i go 33's i could get some bushwackers to help out with the chips but would like to try the 34's.
Thanks

You can fit 35 x 12.50'2 if you crank it up to 6". So you'll be fine with the 34's

It depends on if you are planning on wheelin your truck off-road and what rims(ie. backspacing and width) you are going to use.
If you stick with a factory wheel and aren`t going bogging with it you can run 35s on the street.
If you plan on doing a lot of serious off-roading stick with 33s.
The tires you speak of will probably fit , but the`re not really a "off-road" tire, more of an all-terrain, so I`m guessing your not planning on a bunch of heavy off-roading.

BTW I like those tires too, did you get any prices from anyone , and what rim size are you looking at?

Ok, well i called discont tire today and i asked them about that tire and they said that they didn't carry them yet or somethin, but they did have a tire that messured 33.8 inches but was 13 inches wide, so thats a big negative. but as far as runnin 35's that would be cool, but i dont plan on runnin stock wheels can i still run like some AR's or Eagles and fit 35's, i dont plan on doin any serious offroading i do live in the country with alot of mud roads but i dont want my truck to fall apart!! And as far as crankin it up to 6" are you talkin about my torsion bars? doesn't that put more wear on your tires?
Thanks

You can run any style of wheel you like, the main thing is the backspacing of the rim...you need to keep it close to stock specs.
If you stay around 8 in. wide with 4-4.5in. of backspacing you should be able to use 35s safetly.

As far as cranking the t-bars, there is no problem with getting another 1/2 in. by turning them. Just make sure to get it aligned after, but you will have to do that anyway after the lift.
